Forest School today started with a stick collecting competition. The class was split in half and the children worked together to find and collect as many sticks as we could ready for our craft activity.
Once we had collected lots of sticks we cut them into different lengths and put them in order to make a tree shape. We then stuck these sticks onto a lollipop stick to create a tree trunk. Over the next few weeks we will be adding to these stick creations to make a festive decoration for our Christmas tree at home.
The children really enjoyed making these as we could all easily make them without much adult help. Maybe you could have a go at making some other stick crafts at home, what else could you make using sticks found in the woods?
